About

I remember my dad holding his Lubitel 2 camera to take photos of the family and nature with great passion. I cannot forget the joy his face expressed when his 12-frame film roll was finished, which meant it had to go to the photo shop for development. And the "photos that made it" would be another addition to the family album with each photo meticulously dated as if it belonged to a national archive.

Over 30 years later, I am holding a Sony Alpha 7 Mark 4 camera with top-quality lenses, and what I capture is seconds away from being viewed, printed, and published for the world to see. It's unbelievable how far we have come in terms of technology and quality of photos.

Photography these days seems to be an easy job, more like holding a point-and-shoot phone camera. Or some may consider it redundant, with AI creating dazzling, awe-inspiring imagery. However, what makes photography different these days is the smart choice of equipment for various situations and the vision you have of the scene before your eyes.

I started photography as a hobby, fascinated by the lens effects that put the sharp focus on the subject and the bokeh in the background. More amazing is how shooting in RAW allows for creative editing and changing the expression of the scene photographed beyond what the eyes can see.
